Private Transportation:
We think this would be the best option, and if people can coordinate traveling together and vanpooling, it won’t be such an expensive option. If interested, please contact them to let them know you are part of Natasha and Roberto’s wedding so they can coordinate your arrival time and pick up at the Mexico City airport.

Bus Transportation:
An Uber or an airport taxi might not get you there. Cuernavaca is the closest large bus station to Cuautla. On confortable and modern buses departing from MEX (Pullman de Morelos Company). That bus leaves directly from the airport and arrives in Cuernavaca (1h35min), you’d then have to take a taxi or Uber to drive to Cuautla which is much closer of a drive (40min).
Car Rental:
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can always consider renting a car. Mexico City is “one of the most clogged cities in the world, residents will lose on average 158 hours per year to congestion on the road” (Ortego et al 2021)
UPDATE March 30, 2025: We rented an SUV from MEX airport and found out that it is not that difficult to leave the city in a rental car and the Federal Highway that takes you to Cuautla is in excellent shape… Take some cash for tolls. We rented through Expedia, ended up paying $100 for 3 days including all taxes and fees.

Un Uber o un taxi desde el aeropuerto podría no llegar hasta allá. Cuernavaca es la terminal de autobuses grande más y cercana a Cuautla. Existen autobuses modernos y cómodos que salen del aeropuerto de Ciudad de México (con la compañía Pullman de Morelos) y llegan directamente a Cuernavaca (1h35min). Desde ahí, se puede tomar un taxi o un Uber para llegar a Cuautla, que queda mucho más cerca (40min).

Si te sientes aventurero, puedes considerar la opción de rentar un auto. Ciudad de México es “una de las ciudades más congestionadas del mundo, donde los residentes pierden en promedio 158 horas al año debido al tráfico” (Ortego et al 2021).

Rentamos a través de Expedia y terminamos pagando $100 por 3 días, incluyendo todos los impuestos y tarifas.

We recommend Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc. It’s the closest to the wedding event and it’s where the Icebreaker will be. Be sure to reserve well in advance. The state of Morelos is a destination wedding hotspot and rooms will fill up quickly. If reserving at Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc, remember to request the rooms with A/C, if this is important to you. The hotel has about 150 rooms with it, however they will be busy and you can end up without one

Recomendamos el Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc, el hotel sede. Es el más cercano al evento de la boda y es donde se llevará a cabo el rompehielo. Asegúrate de reservar con mucha anticipación. El Estado de Morelos es un destino muy popular para bodas, y las habitaciones se llenan rápidamente. Si reservas en el Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc, recuerda solicitar las habitaciones con aire acondicionado, si esto es importante para ti. El hotel cuenta con alrededor de 150 habitaciones con A/C, pero estarán ocupadas y podrías quedarte sin una.
